The Latham’s Snipe have been respected and cared for by Aboriginal Nations for thousands of years. We acknowledge and respect the Traditional Owners of the Country on which our beloved birds live, play, and fly. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and future, and welcome their knowledge and involvement in the recovery of this wonderful species. We also acknowledge and respect the Ainu people of Hokkaido, Sakhalin, and the Kuril Islands where the Latham’s Snipe breed and where we undertake our studies.
